Missed your favorite BBC programmes? Well, iPlayer allows you to catch up on the week’s television from the BBC and according to a recent report from The Register you will soon be able to watch iPlayer on your iPod Touch or your iPhone.

In the next few weeks you should be able to access the iPlayer on your iPod touch via wi fi only. Anthony Rose, head of digital media technology at the BBC, said that the iPod touch and the iPhone are just the beginning. They also have plans in the works to make the iPlayer available directly from Virgin media set-top boxes.

The iPlayers’ popularity has mushroomed since its launch on Christmas Day 2007. Figures recently released suggest that more than 2.2 million people have used the iPlayer to watch 17 million programs with over 500,000 people using it on the busiest days.
